The CAB-HAOC-FRL-15 is a 15m/49ft active optical HDMI cable designed to carry native HDMI signals over long distances with minimal latency. It supports HDMI 2.1 Fixed Rate Link and TMDS modes and is engineered for high-bandwidth 8K and high-framerate 4K HDR workflows. The cable preserves native HDMI metadata to maintain device control and audio return functions.
Key features include uncompressed optical transmission up to 48Gbps, compatibility with Display Stream Compression (DSC), and support for the latest HDR formats. The cable passes eARC, CEC, ALLM and VRR information end-to-end which ensures advanced audio and gaming features operate correctly. Kevlar-reinforced cores and aluminium connector heads improve durability and handling.
Performance specifications deliver support for resolutions including 1920x1080p@240Hz, 2560x1440p@240Hz, 4096x2160p@144Hz, 5120x2880p@60Hz and 7680x4320p@60Hz. The transmission system is rated at 48Gbps across four optical lanes (12Gbps per lane) and the cable supports HDCP 2.3 pass-through where required. End-to-end latency is extremely low and the design supports up to 32 audio channels and 192kHz sampling.
Connectivity is plug-and-play with standard 19-pin HDMI Type A male connectors at both ends and passive power drawn from the connected source (4.5v to 5.5v VCC). Ethernet at 100Mbps is supported when available and EDID/HDCP negotiation is passed through transparently. DSC compatibility allows the cable to safely pass compressed high-bandwidth video streams between compatible source and display devices.
This cable is suitable for demanding AV installations where long runs and electromagnetic immunity are required – such as digital signage, control rooms and residential home cinema. It supports modern HDR formats including HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, SL-HDR1 and PQ for accurate HDR grading. Gaming setups benefit from ALLM and VRR support and low-latency delivery.
Installation is straightforward due to low-profile aluminium connector heads and a robust jacket that resists kinking. The cable is supplied coiled on a cardboard spool and contains no single-use plastic in the packaging.
