The WyreStorm CAB-HAOC-20-P is a 20m active optical HDMI cable engineered to deliver uncompressed HDMI video and audio over long distances. It uses optical transmission to maintain pixel-perfect signal integrity while preserving native HDMI communication. This cable supports modern HDR formats and advanced HDMI features to ensure compatibility with current and emerging AV sources and displays.
The cable provides an uncompressed 24Gbps optical link using a 4-core transmission architecture, enabling 4K60 4:4:4 10-bit and 5K60 10-bit HDR signals. It supports metadata-rich HDMI communication so CEC, ARC, ALLM and VRR operate natively between connected devices. The CAB-HAOC includes a detachable RX head and kevlar-protected cores for added durability.
Technically the cable implements HDMI v2.0b TMDS and FRL compatibility to handle up to 24Gbps of combined bandwidth and a maximum per-lane rating of 6Gbps. Latency is negligible at approximately 10 microseconds end-to-end, and the cable supports resolutions from 1080p up to 5K60 depending on chroma and bit depth. It is also ISF certified for image integrity and ready for future HDCP 2.3 content.
Connectivity is native HDMI with a 19-pin Type A male input and a detachable Type A output head on the RX end, plus full EDID pass-through and 100Mbps Ethernet support. Audio formats including multichannel LPCM, DTS-X and Dolby Atmos are supported along with ARC. The cable is designed to preserve HDMI control channels so CEC and other bidirectional protocols remain functional.
This AOC is suitable for applications including digital signage, boardroom AV, control rooms, and pro AV installs that require long runs without signal degradation. It is particularly useful where RF or EM interference may disrupt copper solutions, or where installers need plenum-rated cabling for building code compliance. Gaming displays that require ALLM and VRR at high refresh rates are also supported by the cable.
The CAB-HAOC-20-P is constructed with aluminum connector housings, kevlar-reinforced cores, and is certified for fire safety including plenum UL CL3 rating. The cable ships coiled in a box and is supplied without single-use plastic packaging. Installation is straightforward but note the uni-directional signal flow and the recommended 2cm maximum bend radius for reliability.
