The 2110 IP Converter 3x3G integrates legacy 3G-SDI sources into SMPTE ST 2110 IP environments. It converts up to three independent 3G-SDI channels to and from IP on a single 10GBASE-T interface. The unit supports PTP timing for frame-accurate synchronization across IP networks.
This converter supports uncompressed SMPTE-2110-20 video, SMPTE-2110-30 audio, and SMPTE-2110-40 ancillary data. It handles up to 16 channels of embedded audio per SDI link and provides three SDI inputs, three SDI outputs and three SDI loop outputs. An RJ45 10G port supports 10/100/1000/10GBASE-T and PoE+ power delivery.
Video performance is native 10-bit broadcast quality and supports SD and HD formats up to 1080p60. The device supports traffic shaping per SMPTE-2110-21 and NMOS IS-04/IS-05 for discovery and connection management. The reference output is timed to the internal PTP clock and SDI inputs can be locked to that clock for deterministic synchronization.
Connectivity includes 3x BNC 3G-SDI inputs, 3x BNC 3G-SDI outputs, 3x BNC 3G-SDI loop outputs, 1x RJ45 10GBASE-T, 1x BNC reference output and 1x USB-C for control and firmware. The unit is rackmount friendly and uses active fan cooling to maintain operating temperatures when mounted next to other gear. OS compatibility is macOS 12 to 13, Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11 for control software.
Typical applications include integration of SDI cameras and switchers into IP cores, live production facilities migrating to ST 2110 infrastructures, and broadcast contribution links requiring PTP-locked reference outputs. The converter supports multicast distribution and can act as an NMOS-registered source for routers and control systems. Its support for multiple simultaneous formats makes it suitable for mixed SD and HD environments.
Installation is straightforward and designed for rack integration near existing SDI devices. The front panel 2.2 inch LCD provides signal monitoring, diagnostic data and local routing control. Power options include PoE+ or an IEC C14 AC input for flexible deployment scenarios and 24/7 operation.
