The DeckLink IP HD Optical is a PCIe capture and playback card designed to integrate HD video sources into SMPTE ST 2110 IP broadcast infrastructures. It captures and plays back 10-bit uncompressed 1080p60 video over a single 10G fiber SFP+ port. The card supports embedded audio and PTP synchronization to keep multiple sources in lockstep.
This card provides two channels of input and two channels of output over one optical link, supporting full 10-bit 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 workflows. It supports a wide range of common codecs including ProRes, DNxHD, DNxHR, AVC-Intra and uncompressed formats. The DeckLink IP HD Optical also includes a secure video firewall that isolates the 2110 stream from host Ethernet access.
Performance includes support for all SD and HD formats up to 1080p60, including 720p and 1080i modes and standard definition 525/625 line systems. The card operates as a multirate device and supports 8/10/12-bit RGB and 8/10-bit YUV output options. It is a low-latency PCIe x4 card that provides precise timing and synchronization for professional broadcast use.
Connectivity is provided through a single LC fiber SFP+ port and an included 10GBASE-LR optical module and cage. The DeckLink IP HD Optical is compatible with macOS, Windows and Linux and integrates with major NLE and broadcast software such as DaVinci Resolve, Avid, Adobe Premiere and common streaming and automation tools. It implements NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 for device discovery and connection management on IP networks.
Typical applications include live production ingest, playout servers, IP routing and conversion to streaming workflows. The card is suitable for building 2110 virtual routers and for linking remote broadcast sites using ATEM Streaming Bridge or other IP interconnects. It supports 16-channel embedded audio and common broadcast codecs for archive and post workflows.
Installation is straightforward on workstations with an available PCIe x4 slot and SFP+ support for 10G fiber links. The DeckLink SDK enables custom integration and automation for broadcast systems and supports Mac, Windows and Linux development. The card is supplied with a low profile bracket and is backed by a three year limited manufacturer warranty.
