The DeckLink IP HD is a PCIe capture and playback card designed to integrate HD video into SMPTE ST2110 IP broadcast environments. It captures and plays back 10-bit uncompressed video at resolutions up to 1080p60 and provides two input and two output channels over a single 10G RJ45 connection. This product is intended for broadcast engineers and video professionals who require low-latency IP connectivity and broadcast-grade signal quality.
Key features include true 10-bit uncompressed video support, dual video channels over a single RJ45 10G link, and 16-channel embedded audio transmission. The card uses a PCIe x4 interface for low latency and accurate timing and supports PTP for synchronization across IP systems. It also supports NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 for device discovery and connection management on IP networks.
Technically, the card supports all SD and HD formats up to 1080p60 and handles both 4:4:4 RGB and 4:2:2 YUV color depths at up to 12-bit where applicable. The DeckLink IP HD conforms to SMPTE ST-2110/ST-2100/ST-2082 specifications and maintains synchronization via PTP. Its on-board frame buffers convert and manage video and audio to 2110 IP streams while isolating the host system from the IP network.
Connectivity is provided via a single RJ45 10G Ethernet port that carries two video channels and embedded audio up to 16 channels. The card is compatible with macOS 12 and later, Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11, and Linux distributions supported by Blackmagic drivers. It also integrates with common NLEs and broadcast tools including DaVinci Resolve, Avid, Adobe Premiere, and a wide range of ingest and streaming software.
Practical applications include live broadcast ingest and playout, real-time streaming origin nodes, remote contribution workflows, and archiving or digitization of SD/HD tape sources. The card supports NMOS for virtual routing and can be used with automation systems and streaming servers to build scalable broadcast workflows. Its 10-bit uncompressed support delivers higher color precision for chroma keying, VFX compositing, and color grading tasks.
Installation is straightforward via a PCIe x4 slot and includes low profile bracket support for small form factor systems. The integrated video firewall design prevents host access to the IP stream while allowing secure conversion between host buffers and 2110 streams.
