The Kramer UNIKat CAT6A U/FTP cable is a unified shielded network cable designed to carry video, HDBaseT and LAN signals over four individually screened twisted pairs. It supports DGKat and 4K UHD HDBaseT technology as well as standard Ethernet applications. The cable is supplied on a 305m 1000ft reel for long runs and bulk installations.
Key features include four U/FTP screened pairs and 23AWG solid copper conductors for improved signal integrity and reduced crosstalk. The per-pair Alu/PET screening and tinned copper drain wire provide consistent pair shielding. The cable features an LSHF outer jacket colored blue RAL5012 for easy identification in installations.
Technical performance is engineered to meet EIA/TIA 568A and ISO/IEC 11801 standards and IEC fire and smoke tests. Impedance targets are listed across frequency bands and propagation velocity is 76 percent. Electrical parameters include mutual pair capacitance, insulation resistance and a dielectric strength rating of 2.5kV DC for two seconds.
Connectivity and compatibility are straightforward – the larger 23AWG conductor requires a special RJ-45 connector termination and the cable is optimized for Kramer hardware and HTBaseT recommendations. The jacket and screening support standard RJ-45 terminated links when appropriate shielded connectors are used. The cable is suitable for twisted-pair copper runs in AV and LAN systems where shielded performance is required.
Typical applications include HDBaseT video distribution, DGKat signal transport, and high-speed LAN links in commercial AV venues. It supports long cable runs between racks, wall plates and HDMI/HDBaseT extenders when shielded copper cabling is specified. Use in conference rooms, auditoriums and control rooms is common where 4K and high-bandwidth signals are needed.
Installation is simplified by documented bending radii and a maximum pulling tension rating of 100N to protect conductors during routing. Thermal limits cover storage and installation from 0 to 50 C and operation from -20 to 60 C. The robust construction and LSHF jacket ensure compliance with fire performance and halogen-free requirements for many installations.
