The BC-DGKat7a23 is a four-pair S/FTP CAT7a data cable engineered for shielded Ethernet installations and high-speed AV distribution. It provides individually foil-shielded pairs plus an overall tinned-copper braid to minimize crosstalk and external EMI. The cable is available in 100m pull-box lengths and is designed to support modern 10GBase-T links and PoE+ power delivery.
Key features include four individually aluminum-foil shielded twisted pairs, a dedicated drain conductor, and a tinned-copper overall braid shield for robust noise immunity. The 23AWG solid copper conductors and tight construction deliver consistent impedance and reduced skew across pairs. The cable requires shielded RJ-45 termination compatible with 23AWG conductors to preserve shielding continuity.
Technically, the cable supports a frequency range from 1MHz to 1200MHz with a nominal impedance of 100 ohm and a velocity of propagation around 80 percent. Propagation delay skew is specified at a maximum of 20ns per 100m and DC resistance is 65 ohm per km nominal at 20C. Attenuation figures are provided across multiple frequencies to help predict link budgets for longer runs.
Connectivity follows standard Ethernet wiring color codes and termination practices – pairs are color coded White/blue, White/orange, White/green, White/brown. Use shielded RJ-45 connectors designed for 23AWG solid conductors to maintain the S/FTP shielding performance. The cable is compliant with IEC 61156 and ISO/IEC 11801 standards and meets RoHS 2011/65/EU requirements.
