The Atlona AT-HDR-CAT-8 is an 8-output HDBaseT distribution amplifier that delivers 4K/60 video and HDR formats to multiple displays. It takes a single HDMI source and replicates the signal across eight HDBaseT outputs plus a local HDMI pass-through. The unit is built for commercial AV environments where long-distance extension and reliable signal distribution are required.
The HDR-CAT-8 supports 4K/UHD at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and HDR formats including HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. Each HDBaseT output carries video, multi-channel audio, control signals and power to compatible receivers. The device also provides audio de-embedding to a balanced analog output with integrated volume control.
Performance includes visually lossless compression with no latency to enable 4K/60 4:4:4 HDR over Category cable. The HDBaseT outputs extend up to 130 ft (40 m) for 4K HDR or up to 230 ft (70 m) for 1080p depending on cable type. The distribution amp is HDCP 2.2 compliant and manages EDID communications for stable playback of protected content.
Connectivity is comprehensive – one HDMI input, one HDMI pass-through output, eight RJ45 HDBaseT outputs, LAN, balanced analog audio out, and nine captive-screw ports for RS-232 and IR. Control options include TCP/IP, RS-232, IR pass-through and CEC display power control to each output. The unit can remotely power compatible receivers over HDBaseT to simplify installations.
Typical applications include hospitality digital signage, retail content distribution, corporate reception displays and education AV where multiple repeat displays are required. The HDR-CAT-8 is compatible with Atlona HDBaseT receivers such as the AT-HDR-EX-70C-RX and AT-UHD-EX series for full 4K/60 HDR extension. The product supports cascading up to eight units to expand a system without compromising performance.
The HDR-CAT-8 is housed in a 1U full-rack enclosure and includes rack mounting hardware and an external universal power supply. Front-panel LEDs and buttons provide status and basic configuration while a built-in web GUI and Velocity Device Manager simplify setup and management. The unit is certified CE, RoHS and FCC and is NDAA-899 compliant.
