The Gain 60 is a compact Class D power amplifier designed to provide either two channels of low-impedance amplification or a single high-impedance distributed output. It delivers 2 x 30 watts into 4 ohm or 8 ohm loads, or a single 60 watt output at 24V, 70V, or 100V. The unit is ENERGY STAR qualified and convection cooled for quiet operation.
Key features include a selectable mode switch for low-Z or high-Z operation, balanced and unbalanced inputs, rear-panel input gain control, and front-panel controls for input selection, mute, and volume. The amplifier includes bass and treble tone controls and built-in protection for clipping, short circuit, and thermal overload. Automatic standby is configurable between 5 and 25 minutes to reduce idle power consumption.
Audio performance supports 24-bit uncompressed audio and selectable sampling rates up to 96 kHz. Frequency response extends from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and THD plus noise is specified below 0.1 percent near clipping. Signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 95 dBA WTD, ensuring clean playback for speech and program material.
Connectivity covers balanced 5-pin captive screw input and two unbalanced RCA inputs, plus an RJ45 port for TCP/IP control and an RS-232 control interface. Speaker outputs are provided via a 4-pin lock-down screw connector for 4/8 ohm loads and a 5-pin connector for 24V/70V/100V distributed lines. The amplifier integrates with Atlona control systems and AV switchers for centralized management.
Typical applications include meeting rooms, classrooms, and any space requiring concealed installation above a drop ceiling – the Gain 60 is UL 2043 plenum rated for that purpose. It can drive program speakers in stereo or feed a distributed ceiling speaker system in mono at constant voltage. Its compact size makes it suitable where rack or shelf space is limited.
Installation is straightforward with captive screw connectors and an external universal power supply provided. The convection cooling design eliminates fan noise and reduces maintenance.
