The AP902 is a 2-channel mic/line preamplifier expansion card designed to add two balanced or unbalanced mic/line inputs to ATEN AP series power amplifiers. It provides adjustable gain and low-noise preamplification to expand input capacity without compromising audio quality. The module is engineered to integrate seamlessly into the AP amplifier expansion slot and extend system input flexibility.
Key features include an adjustable gain range of -6~+36dB, support for both microphone and line-level sources, and preamp circuitry optimized to reduce noise floor and improve dynamic range. The card accepts mic and line sources from mixers, media players, or other pro audio devices and supports both balanced and unbalanced connections. Gain controls allow matching of various source levels while maintaining headroom.
Performance metrics include a frequency response of 50~20kHz +/-0.5dB from line input to the AP2 line output and low distortion figures: THD+N for line inputs is under 0.01% at +4dBu and 1kHz; microphone input THD+N is under 0.25% at -20dBu and 1kHz. Input impedances are 3kOhm for mic inputs and 20kOhm balanced / 10kOhm unbalanced for line inputs. Maximum input handling reaches +24dBu with a nominal input level of +4dBu for line sources.
Connectivity is provided via dual-channel input circuitry that supports both balanced and unbalanced wiring conventions and standard pro audio connectors when installed in the AP amplifier. The card has been tested with ATEN AP2 amplifiers to ensure compatibility and predictable signal flow. The design preserves signal integrity when paired with common audio mixers, paging consoles, and media playback devices.
