The AP206 is a dual-channel DSP-equipped power amplifier designed for distributed audio and public address installations. It delivers 60 W per channel in a compact, fanless chassis that balances power and efficiency. The unit is ENERGY STAR qualified to reduce energy consumption and operating costs.
Onboard DSP provides Speaker EQ, a 5-band EQ, delay, limiter, and up to 20 configurable presets for site-specific tuning. The DSP is accessible and configurable through an intuitive WebGUI that simplifies system setup and adjustments. Ground lift is included to eliminate unwanted hum from grounding differences.
The AP206 supports balanced and unbalanced line-level inputs and can drive 4 ohm low-impedance speakers or 70/100V distributed lines in Bridge mode. Class-D amplification delivers efficient power conversion while minimizing heat, and the amplifier mutes automatically if heat sink temperature exceeds safety limits. Integrated protection covers shorted outputs, output over/under-voltage, high-frequency overload, and overtemperature conditions.
Connectivity and expandability are provided via an expansion slot that accepts optional AP901 Dante or AP902 Mic/Line preamp cards. Remote control and integration are supported through RS-232 and Ethernet for VK Control System connectivity. Firmware updates are supported to ensure the amplifier can receive feature and stability improvements over time.
Typical use cases include background music distribution, paging, and audio reinforcement in commercial, hospitality, and educational environments. The combination of DSP presets, auto standby, and protection circuitry makes the AP206 suitable for unattended or centrally managed deployments. The fanless design also makes it suitable for noise-sensitive spaces.
