The 12G-AMA-T-ST is a compact 4-channel analog audio embedder and disembedder that supports 12G-SDI input and output up to 4K/UltraHD. It provides always-on analog audio disembedding and user-selectable embedding on channel pairs. The unit includes an ST fiber transmitter for long-distance 4K/UltraHD signal extension.
Key capabilities include balanced 4-channel analog inputs and outputs, selectable analog audio levels, and the ability to pass, remove, or override embedded SDI audio. The converter auto-detects input video formats and supports RGB and YCbCr up to 10-bit color depth. A supplied XLR breakout provides four XLR female inputs and four XLR male outputs for easy integration with pro audio gear.
Performance specifications cover single-link 12G-SDI support for SD/HD/2K/UltraHD/4K with cable equalization distances defined for Belden 1694A. Embedded audio handling supports up to 16 channels at standard sample rates and bit depths per SMPTE specifications. Audio latency is low, with embed path latency around 1100 microseconds and disembed path around 1200 microseconds.
Connectivity includes 1x 12G-SDI BNC input, 1x 12G-SDI BNC output, and 1x 12G-SDI ST fiber output using an included single-channel SFP transmitter. Control options include external DIP switches and USB connectivity for configuration via AJA Mini-Config software on PC and Mac. Power is supplied via the universal external supply accepting +5 to 16 VDC and supports remote and on-rack installations.
The 12G-AMA-T-ST is suited to broadcast and production environments requiring analog audio embedding or extraction in 4K workflows. Typical applications include live event feeds, OB vans, post production signal routing, and long-distance fiber links between facilities. Its small form factor and locking power connector allow rack, monitor-rail, or camera-rig placement while maintaining stable connections.
